British Columbia Immigration – Canada

This program is for investment-ready and qualified entrepreneurs ready to invest and settle in BC and this program offers accelerated immigration to become permanent residents of Canada.

However, the requirements and process of the program from July 2, 2015 the BC PNP has changed. A mandatory registration system has been introduced for every applicant.

The application and nomination have program requirements for each stage of the process.

British Columbia –Entrepreneur Category

The candidates must meet the minimum score of 200 in each section and once the candidates make the minimum score for each section they are eligible to enter the pool of candidates.

The prospective candidates are ranked according to the scores: business experience (24), net worth (12), personal investment (30), proposed job creation (36), adaptability (18) (including age, language proficiency, education, previous visits to B.C. and previous work or study in Canada) and business concept (80).

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must submit the net worth of at least $600,000 (including cash, assets in bank accounts, fixed deposits, real properties, investments, etc) which should be under the candidate’s or the spouse’s name.
  • Work experience — the candidate must have required knowledge and experience to successfully establish his or her business in the province.

The candidate must have following experience -

As an active business owner-manager for more than three years, or

As a senior manager for more than four years, or

As an active business owner-manager of at least one year and at least two years as a senior manager.

  • Personal investment of at least $200,000 in the business.
  • Create at least one new full-time job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in the business.
  • Either you can establish a new business or purchase and improve an existing one.

The highest-ranked registrants will be invited to apply to the Entrepreneur Program by BC PNP and after that the candidate will receive an email notification and will have up to four months from the date of invitation to submit a complete application.

The candidates might have to attend an in-person interview at the BC PNP office. If the application is approved, after the submission of complete package he or she will sign a Performance Agreement and will have up to 20 months to implement a business proposal in B.C.

Letter of Confirmation is being issued after receiving signed performance agreement by the BC PNP, which serves as a work permit support letter in order to apply for a two-year work permit to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC).

To make an application for permanent residence under the BC PNP, the candidate should meet the following eligibility:

  • Day-to-day business operations,
  • Demonstrated residence in B.C. and
  • Admissibility to Canada
